Biography

A hybrid practitioner of safety and security.

As an independent consultant and freelance principal, Werner supports organisations that are ready to mature their resilience — achieving compliance and, more importantly, ensuring the performance and effectiveness of plans, procedures and measures across the full spectrum of physical security, close protection, TSCM, business continuity, crisis management, occupational safety, fire prevention, blackout preparedness and NIST 2 implementation.

A deep-sea shipping captain by education, he sailed the oceans in command of general cargo, reefer, special tanker and off-shore supply vessels before moving into security. Over 40 years he has practised internationally across physical security, crisis management and business continuity, specialising in close protection, technical counter-surveillance and occupational safety in healthcare.

A life-time member of ASIS International and a CPP since 1989, he has served in multiple voluntary leadership roles — including the chairmanship of the Austrian Chapter and the Crisis Management & Business Continuity Council. His mission is to promote global security standards and best practices, ensuring resilience in organisations worldwide.

Documented life-long learning has built a rare hybrid of safety and security knowledge, continuously refined against the latest technical and legislative developments — enabling implementation of what is truly necessary, with a minimum of monetary effort.

Mission

Promote global security standards and best practices, so organisations become genuinely resilient — not merely compliant.
